INAUGURATION OF SOROTI 10 MW SOLAR PV PLANT IN UGANDA

The Minister of State for Energy of Uganda, together with representatives of ACCESS Power and EREN RE, celebrated on the 12th of December the inauguration of the Soroti Solar PV Power Plant.

Made up of 32,680 photovoltaic panels, the new 10-megawatt facility is the country’s first grid-connected solar power plant and will generate clean and  sustainable electricity for 40,000 homes, schools and businesses in the area.

Ereda participated in the project as Owner’s Engineer, carrying out the complete supervision of the EPC contract including the power plant and the 33 kV power transmission line. EREDA role included the supervision of all on site activities during the whole process, from earth movement to power plant energization. Nowadays Ereda is providing technical support alto to the Operation and Maintenance works in the Plant.
