EREDA has been hired as Owner’s Engineer for the World Biggest Hybrid-Solar Power Plant to be built in Burkina Faso




EREDA has been hired as Owner’s Engineer for the construction of a 14.9 MWp photovoltaic Plant in Essakane, Burkina Faso. This photovoltaic plant made of close to 130,000 photovoltaic panels, will be synchronized  to a 55 MW power plant currently running on heavy fuel oil that supplies energy to a gold mine. This will be the World Biggest Hybrid-Solar Power Plant. Essakane Solar SAS, 90% owned by global independent power producer EREN Renewable Energy (EREN) and 10% by its development partner African Energy Management Platform (AEMP)  will operate the solar PV plant and sell the energy to IAMGOLD’s Essakane Mine.  Wärstilä will be in charge of the engineering and construction (EPC). EREDA is responsible for supervision of the detailed engineering of the project and also for the construction and commissioning supervision.
